A ‘Big One’

Maybe not ‘The Big One’, but one, nevertheless, of a fairly substantial size capable enough of knocking down more than a few trees, and leaving The Institute without access to electrical power for some 22 hours. I’m not complaining, I’m sure there were those others out there, unknown to me, more significantly affected by this ill treatment at the hands of Mother Nature, who will, as all children must, for some time be dealing with the results, whether that be the visible and tremendous damage to property, or the more subtle. sometimes hidden for years, lingering psychological difficulties suffered by those, perhaps more sensitive than the rest, who, by no choice of their own are thrown back to a time long ago, or, quite possibly in their troubled minds, thrown forward into a horrific future, when things suck/sucked.

Anyway, though I have sorely missed issuing announcements to all of you out there, I am now, with great pleasure, turning over this modest podium to our dear friend, Jack Horrorchild, who was, unsurprisingly to those who know him, a pillar of great strength through the darkness of that terrifying ordeal.
