Well all the people have got their problems
That ain’t nothing new

– David Bowie

Let me tell you right up front that I do not usually associate myself with known drug users, or purveyors of the Rock and Roll lifestyle that has ruined so many of our young people, however, in this instance, under these circumstances, I have used a quote from someone guilty of both those things. I know many of you are asking “Why, Jack Horrorchild, why”?, and I tell you this, he is absolutely correct. People do have problems, always have, probably always will, though I have no way to know this for sure, and would never dream of visiting a psychic, or astrologer in order to find out due to the peril my soul would be in as a result. With that said I’d like you to take a moment to read about my problems which, while not new, have yet to be addressed in any meaningful way up until now.

“Hello, I’m part of the leisure class”

How does that make you feel? Angry, scared? Do you want to lash out at the person merely because they live very well without any need for employment? Do you want to “rough them up” simply because they have what you may refer to as “fuck all” to do? It doesn’t surprise me that you do, many people feel this way all across the world, I know, I’ve experienced it first hand, I’m part of the Leisure Class.

I wasn’t always a part of the Leisure Class, at one time, years and years ago, I had a job for nearly a whole year. So, believe me when I tell you I understand the trials and tribulations of working people, however, I must admonish those of your kind for their bigoted treatment of those who live better than they do without having to earn a living. You must stop it. I know it is difficult to get over your feelings of anger and inadequacy, but you must take into consideration how the idle rich are constantly being attacked simply for being, well, idle and rich. Is that fair? Of course not. And so, I recommend that from this day forth you no longer call them the idle rich, or trust fund kids, or whatever other derogatory term you use, and instead refer to them as “Freetimers”.

“Freetimers”, it has a nice ring to it, don’t you think? Wouldn’t you like to be a Freetimer? Sure you would, unfortunately, the chances of you becoming one are what some would call “slim to nil”, but, and this is the cool part, even if you aren’t a Freetimer, you can be a Freetimer ally. How could I ever help Freetimers? You may ask yourself, well it’s simple, keep working. That’s it, that’s all, and, don’t be a bigot, check yourself when you have bad thoughts about people who live better than you without the need of labor of any kind, and, speak out when others use offensive names such as ‘trust fund kids’, tell them “NO, I WILL NOT HAVE YOU SAYING THOSE AWFUL WORDS, THEY ARE CALLED FREETIMERS, AND THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN US AND THEM IS THAT THEY DON’T HAVE TO SLAVE AWAY NIGHT AND DAY JUST TO SCRAPE BY, YOU’RE REALLY GOING TO HATE SOMEONE JUST FOR THAT?  YOU’RE PATHETIC”!

Thank you
