Alright, alright, I get it, have it your way

Seeing as you don’t give a good God damn about the direction this country (God bless it) is going in, either politically or musically, I have no choice but to shift the focus onto things of a slightly more spiritual nature. In other words, it’s your own damn fault that we are now going to venture, if not actually into, then, along the edges of what is known, but ultimately unknown, as the supernatural world.
So, please, come with me now…

You, and I mean you in particular, as well as, the all inclusive cosmic ‘you’ that you’ve, no doubt, pondered on while starring into the night sky or watching a fire rescue team in Texas save a small child who has fallen down a well, have tried, in the face of the immensity of perplexity, to connect the dots you imagine are there in order to make an aesthetically pleasing picture such as a sunrise, or a beautiful lake, maybe with some animals, and one or two respected historical figures, others of you may instead create pictures of pretty flowers in a vase, while a few (a few I thankfully don’t know personally) will make horrible gauzy images of small children dressed as adults holding flowers and (terrifyingly) hands possibly even looking as if they might smooch. Don’t deny it. All of us (other than myself), at one time or another has jumped feet first into that bottomless lake that is the void and thrashed about unable to see the shore madly screaming into the nothingness, “What’s it all about”?, all the while begging for any unverifiable make-believe to be thrown your way so that you can just stay afloat. Sorry, hate to be the one pull back the curtain; it’s just one of those certain truths I sometimes reveal. What’s that? You aren’t interested? Well, too bad. Just think of it as tough love, because I do love you, each and every bleepin’ one of you. Do you really think I would be sharing this latest fabulous cartoon of ‘The Floating Head and Wilson’ (delivering, once again, a special message meant just for you) if I didn’t care so much?

I don’t think so.

‘Freewill’ the song (in part) featured in this ‘The Floating Head and Wilson’ cartoon was written by Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart of the band, Rush. Coincidentally, ‘Freewill’ was, like the song last performed by The Floating Head and Wilson, ‘In America’, first released in 1980..
